Despite a month long drought, my lawn has hung in there and stayed relatively green even without irrigation! I even left on vacation for a week and came back to a nice lush lawn despite the drought. Well, most of the lawn was green.
That’s what is cool about DIY lawns. You get to do what you want, huh? Don’t forget to visit the Bermuda Lawn Calendar for some great guidance and suggestions for your Bermuda grass lawn.
What can I do in July?
There are several things you can do in July. I started using some plant growth regulator, fertilizer, insecticide and apply soil amendments. Watch the video and see what all I did. 😀
The best thing you can do in the month of July according to our Bermuda Lawn Calendar include:
- Apply granular fertilizer
- A shot of liquid iron on July 1 for a knockout green on the 4th
- Excellent time to top dress or level the lawn
- Mow as often as possible (2-3 times per week)
- If you use Plant Growth Regulators, keep track of your apps
- Spot spray or pull up any weeds that may have popped up
- Apply a preventative Fungicide, remember to switch up your modes of action ✨
- Feed the soil – apply a monthly dose of soil amendments

- Builds rich, carbon-heavy soil that requires less fertilizer for plant growth
- Features DG Technology, which allows particles to disperse with water, moving immediately into the soil
- Easy-to-apply spherical, uniform, low-dust formulation
- Ideal for seeding and composting applications on lawns, gardens, flower beds, potted plants, etc.
- BioChar lasts in the soil for years, helping build the soil profile over time.
- Environmentally friendly, OMRI listed. User friendly; can be blended with fertilizers, alongside any fertilizer program, or used alone
Give this stuff a try! I recommend applying a good soil conditioner at least once a month.
