Yes, we cover my allotment! OK, well, this isn’t really an allotment in the British term, but it is my garden located in a small sunny spot in the back of my yard. I hope you enjoy my garden tour.
Allotment Plants
Here is a list of plants that I have planted in my garden:
- Lettuce (already harvested)
- Kale (already harvested)
- Tomatoes (several varieties – slicing, steak, cherry)
- Bell pepper
- Jalapeno pepper
- Spaghetti squash
- Beans (bush and pole)
- Okra
- Yellow Crookneck squash
- Potatoes (regular and sweet)
- Zucchini
- Flowers (marigolds, daisies, sunflowers, etc)
Wow! Yes, that’s quite a bit in such a small garden area. My garden is 32ft by 32ft and has 4 raised beds that are 4ft by 16ft. The back area is ground planted.
No-Till Gardening
All of my garden is what you consider a no-till garden. That means I don’t plow the garden with your typical farm machinery. I basically pull weeds, add any amendments (hoe and rake, if necessary) then poke holes and drop in the seed.
