The best fungicide and insecticide for Bermuda grass is one that you can combine and have the following characteristics:
- An insecticide that you only have to apply once
- A fungicide that covers both a Group 3 and a Group 11 in one.
Fungicide: Armada 50 WDG
The fungicide I chose is Armada 50 WDG. This is a great fungicide. WDG means water dispersible granules. Therefore, it dissolves easily in water, and did not clog my sprayer.
Armada 50 WDG is a professional fungicide that controls certain foliar, stem and root diseases of turfgrass, residential and commercial lawns, sod farms, sports fields, parks, etc. Armada is labeled to control Dollar Spot, Brown Patch, Leaf Spot, Anthracnose, Summer Patch, Gray Leaf Spot and Rapid Blight, Red Thread and Pink Patch, Rust, Southern Blight, Stripe Smut, Fusarium Patch, Pink Snow Mold, Powdery Mildew, Leaf spot, Downy Mildew, Take-All Patch, Necrotic Ring Spot and more. Moreover, see label for complete mix and use instructions. Most applications require .6 to 1.5 oz. of Armada WDG per 1,000 square feet of area.
Insecticide: Acelepryn SC
I chose this insecticide after seeing some great reviews online. Should only need one treatment at the rate of just below .37 oz. per 1,000 square feet of area. Typically, you would only apply .2 oz, but there were major signs of infestation so I went with the max application. I irrigated immediately after application to get it into the soil.
Acelepryn Insecticide is for foliar and systemic control of white grubs and pests that infest on landscape/recreational turfgrass (includes golf courses), interior plantscapes, sod farms and landscape ornamentals. It is a suspension concentrate that contains 1.67 lbs of active ingredient per gallo
